Mineral King Road

On the way up Mineral King Road, we came across this stream. I thought it would make a great
photo, and so I snapped away.

Kaweah Bridge

About 1/4 of the way up Mineral King Road, you will come across the Kaweah Bridge. Dating from 1923,
this is now classed as a historical monument. So I took a picture of it :-)

Kaweah Bridge

And this is the bridge itself. Nearly all of the lakes in Sequoia have either been dammed, or are regulated.
Likewise, the flow under the bridge was a trickle when we went up, and was a torrent when we came back.

Spring Creek View 1

This is a fantastic view of Mineral King Valley from near Spring Creek. It is an awesome area. On the
mountain in the center right of the photo is a glacier (small, white thing).

Spring Creek View 1

This is another fantastic view of Mineral King Valley, which I am quite proud of. The elevation at this point is
around 8,000ft and it is quite feasible to hike to around 11,000ft.

Mineral King Road

If you are planning a trip to Mineral King, be aware that the road is only partially paved for most of the
journey. Mineral King Road is approximately 25 miles long to the campsites. It's full of twists, turns
and bumps, and is tough going. If you have a sports car, you may want to think twice about taking it.
