The village of Portmerion was the setting for the 1960's cult, British TV series The Prisoner. Portmerion is completely out-of-place in the surrounding mountainous terrain of North Wales. Built by the late Sir William Clough-Ellis, Portmerion was based on an Italian village, Portmerion was constructed with a mixture of rescued architectural left-overs and custom designed buildings. |
